It’s important to teach kids about Ruby Bridges for a number of reasons:

– Understanding Civil Rights Movement: Ruby Bridges was a 6-year-old African American girl who helped integrate schools in the South during the Civil Rights Movement. By learning about her life, kids can understand how hard it was to get equal rights for black people and how important the Civil Rights Movement was in making our country what it is today.

– Promoting Diversity and Inclusion: Ruby Bridges’ story provides a powerful message of courage and resilience in the face of adversity. It encourages kids to appreciate and celebrate diversity, and promotes understanding and empathy for those who may be different from themselves.

– Inspiring Courage and Perseverance: Ruby Bridges had to deal with a lot of problems and challenges at a young age, but she never gave up on what she believed in. Her story can inspire kids to have the courage to stand up for what they believe in and to never give up, even when faced with opposition.

Overall, telling kids about Ruby Bridges helps them learn more about history, develop empathy and understanding, and be more determined and brave.

A Ruby Bridges School craft can be a fun and educational activity for preschoolers to learn about her story and African- American revolution. Here is a simple way to make a school craft which says I can be courageous like Ruby Bridges
