Christmas Tree Color Mixing Sensory Bag

Teaching color mixing to your preschool or early elementary students this holiday season? This activity makes a great color-mixing lesson while also promoting sensory and fine motor skills. All you need is a Ziplock bag, marker, blue and yellow paint, and some shaving cream. First, draw a Christmas tree design on one side of the bag. Next, add a small amount of shaving cream, blue paint, and yellow paint to the bag.

Now for the fun part! Your little ones can mix the paints together with the shaving cream to watch it “magically” turn colors. This is the perfect opportunity to discuss with your young learners the color wheel, color mixing, and more! Your young students will enjoy learning about color mixing while also having a great time “pushing” around color!
